Ornament choices:

Dam dam image The damming of the Patuxent River was absolutely essential to the creation of Laurel as a Mill town. This ornament would commemorate Laurel's early industry and long roots as a working class town.
Emancipation Day Parade Parade image The Emancipation Day Parade began in the early 1900s and has remained a Laurel tradition for over 100 years. This ornament would highlight an important piece of Laurel culture.
Little Tavern Little Tavern image What is now Laurel Tavern Donuts was once a part of the Little Tavern Hamburgers Chain. This mid-twentieth century building commemorates Laurel's history as a busting town connected to Route 1.
Diven Dog and Cat Diven Dog and Cat image The Diven Iron Foundry was located not far from Main Street. The foundry produced one of a kind pieces and today the Diven Dog and Cat are both part of the Laurel Museum's collection. The Diven Dog has been affectionately named "Diven" and become a mascot used to guide children throughout the Laurel Museum.
